Something magical happened this week: Tropace Tea officially hit the shelves of L’Afrique Market, that beautiful little West African corner of Chicago where plantain chips reign supreme and everyone’s auntie is somehow related.
But that’s not the funny part. The funny part?
Our founder, Mamud Dako, the most introverted man west of the River Niger showed up in person.
Wearing a radiant Ankara print and a smile that looked like it had been bribed into existence, Mamud stood at the demo table like a wellness warrior… trying not to make direct eye contact with strangers.
Tea Was Poured. Vibes Were Sent. Shyness Was Ignored.
Let’s just say, if tea whispering was a job, Mamud nailed it.
He handed out samples of our Rooibos Chai, Immunity Tea, and Nursing Tea like he was born for this, then promptly stepped aside whenever someone wanted a photo. Classic.
But jokes aside, our teas were flying off the table. And not just because we were handing out free honey sticks (okay, that helped).
